Committed to excellence.

Dairy farmers are committed to providing excellent care for their cattle. The National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC) published “The Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle” in consultation with industry experts, including producers, veterinarians, and dairy welfare researchers. The Code of Practice is a national guideline that outlines requirements and best management practices for the care of dairy cattle and all common practices on dairy farms.

The Animal Care pillar addresses the requirements for housing space and bedding, feed and water, health and welfare, animal handling, and staff training.
