Taking time to share and enjoy the company of our friends and family during mealtime has never been more in vogue. As President’s Choice’s #EatTogether campaign moves into its 2nd year, the importance of sharing a meal with others has broadened to the time spent eating in the workplace. With the campaign’s continued success, the importance of family and friendship around the table, both in and out of the home, has clearly caught the nation’s attention.
So what can you do in BC to make mealtimes more meaningful for your family? Participate in the 2018 Hands-on Cook-off Contest!
"Research shows that there are many benefits of eating together, including better nutrition, better school performance, and better social adjustment for everyone involved"
This year marks the 9th year for the Hands-on Cook-off Contest from Better Together, a community-centered initiative developed in collaboration with the BC Ministry of Health. This year’s contest will take place from April 16th to May 16th, and invites everyone in BC to grab a friend or relative and create a home cooking video in celebration of making and eating meals together.
How to Participate?
The rules are simple! Contest submissions can be made by BC residents anytime from April 16th to May 16th, 2018. Videos must include two generations cooking together and be no longer than three minutes. Tips on making the video can be found here.
There are no technical skills required—videos can be made using phone video cameras. Full contest details, including where to upload videos, can be found on the contest site: www.bettertogetherbc.ca/contest.
