It’s back to school and healthy lunches and meals are on the minds of parents and schools. Want to make milk the easy choice at school? Sign up for +Milk and/or School Milk BC!
BC Dairy Association and BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation are proud to announce that 718 schools are currently registered to include +MILK with their School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional program delivery starting this fall. Registered schools will receive a 120 mL cup of milk for all students in kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2. We look forward to more schools registering and taking the opportunity to serve milk to their students.
School Milk BC
Schools serving milk to their students on a regular basis may register at schoolmilkbc.ca to receive resources, information and milk incentives for the students. Canada’s Food Guide recommends two servings of Milk and Alternatives per day for children aged 2 to 8, and 3-4 servings per day for children aged 9 to 18. Children who drink milk at school are more likely to meet the recommended number of servings. Be sure to check with your child’s school if they are serving milk on a regular basis. If not, volunteer to set up a milk program.
