The 5th Annual Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival was held at Whistler Blackcomb on Saturday August 17th, 2013. Daredevils had the opportunity to chase an 11lbs wheel of cheese down a hill with the hopes of winning the wheel of cheese and two ski season passes to Whistler Blackcomb. This event was hosted by Dairy Farmers of Canada and included fun-filled activities for kids, cheese seminars, and a market place to purchase some of the finest cheeses in BC and Canada. BC Dairy Association was present at the event and hosted a fun new feature of the Mobile Dairy Classroom Experience, our need interactive photo frames. The newly re-elected President of Dairy Farmers of Canada, Wally Smith, was present at the event and rolled the wheel of cheese at the top of the hill. Members of the BC Dairy Association Board of Directors were also present at the event, and one director, Jeremy Wiebe, even participated in the first heat of cheese rolling. The event was very well attended and all had a wonderful time!
