Jeremy Dunn

General Manager

Jeremy leads the team at BC Dairy in supporting its mandate to create a positive environment for dairy farmers and their customers. He brings 20 years of experience to the organization in business leadership, strategic planning, issues management and stakeholder engagement .

Growing up on Vancouver Island, Jeremy has always had an appreciation for locally produced food. On the weekends, he loves to prepare meals with his wife and two young kids.



Milai Burnett

Director of Finance and Administration

Milai is responsible for the financial side of BC Dairy’s operations and reporting. When not crunching numbers, Milai can be found exploring local trails with her daughters and their dogs or sampling local wines at the many vineyards BC has to offer.


Sakshi Harsh

Finance and Administration Coordinator

Sakshi hails originally from the “land of multi-cultures”, India, and immigrated as an international student to Canada 3 years ago. After completing her studies, she joined BC Dairy as the Finance and Administration Coordinator.

When not working, Sakshi is passionate about cooking and loves to explore food around town. Apart from being a foodie, Sakshi practices Meditation and Yoga.

Christine Terpsma

Director of Producer & Public Affairs

Christine grew up on a dairy farm, working alongside her family. As a professional agrologist, Christine works with farmers, industry, and all levels of government to support a sustainable dairy industry in BC. Christine is interested in natural resource conservation, ecosystem restoration, and the role that farms play in a supporting a healthy environment. When she’s not in the office, Christine can be found in the barn.

Carla Soutar

Producer Services Manager

Born and raised on a dairy farm in the Fraser Valley, where she still works on weekends, Carla is passionate about the industry and the people within it. She collaborates with all of BC Dairy’s producers and industry partners to continue building relationships within the industry. She loves hiking and spending time in nature with her kids, when not on the farm.

Daniella Reid

Public Affairs Specialist

Daniella is a strong advocate for promoting local industry here in our backyard – contributing more jobs to the economy and increasing BC’s food security. As the Public Affairs Specialist, Daniella manages BC Dairy’s government engagement for dairy producers across the province. In her spare time, you can find Daniella on a mountain, paddling on the water, and checking out the best local restaurants around BC.

Vicki Crites

Director of Policy, Programs & Innovation

Vicki moved to BC as an airline yield analyst (more than 20 years ago), with a passion for politics and policy. And after a Vancouver-based career in the federal government working on collaborative policy (and intergovernmental initiatives), she eventually made her home in Abbotsford and shifted to policy work in the dairy industry. In her role at BC Dairy, Vicki leads policy and program development.

Emma Strazhnik

Stakeholder & Innovation Manager

Emma leads the proAction team and research committee at BC Dairy. Having lived and worked at the UBC Dairy Research and Education Centre in Agassiz, she uses her passion and expertise in animal welfare science and research to support dairy producers in their businesses. Since she doesn’t get to work directly with cows anymore, she spends most of her free time playing near the water with her black and white (holstein) dog, Stanley.

Kelsey Zalot

Quality Assurance Manager

Kelsey is a key member of the proAction team. Having grown up in the Fraser Valley, participating in 4-H and later working as a dairy genetics technician, she brings a wealth of technical knowledge and producer support experience to BC Dairy. When not at her desk, Kelsey can be found camping and off-roading with her husband and young son.

Tamara Pottrick

Provincial proAction Coordinator

Growing up on an organic berry farm in Abbotsford, Tamara has always had an interest in agriculture.

As a program coordinator, she works on daily administration of the proAction program.

Outside of her work for BC Dairy she spends most of her time at her second full-time job on a nearby dairy farm, or enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.

Gaylene Hendrickson

ProAction Validator

Gaylene grew up on a dairy farm in the Fraser Valley and now lives in the Okanagan.  She has been a proAction validator since 2009 and is responsible for validating almost all of the dairy farms  outside of the Fraser Valley. Her spare time is spent working on her family hobby farm and helping out her friends and family on their dairy farms.

Heidi Schurmann

ProAction Validator

Heidi runs a dairy farm in the Fraser Valley with her husband and three young children. She has been a proAction validator since 2013. Heidi is passionate about calf care on her farm and enjoys working with her rescue horses when not in the dairy barn.

Jennifer Woron

Director of Marketing & Partnerships

Growing up in the Fraser Valley, Jennifer is passionate about food and agriculture, especially if it comes from BC. As the Director of Marketing, Jennifer channels this passion for local food and farmers through visually compelling advertising campaigns that tell the story of BC dairy farmers and the high quality products they produce. On the weekends, you’ll find her exploring local parks with her family.

Kristine Alfonso

Marketing Manager

Kristine grew up in Vancouver and has a passion for getting people excited about dairy. As the Marketing Manager, Kristine shares her expertise in visual design and marketing when creating advertising campaigns. In her spare time she gets excited about travelling, exploring BC for local foods, and participating in her toddler’s latest accomplishments.

Catherine Green

Director of Digital Communications & Content

With a serious passion for cooking, and an appreciation for the visual arts, Catherine loves to share stories about food and farming as the lead of BC Dairy’s digital communications and content.

When she’s offline, Catherine can usually be found experimenting in the kitchen, checking out local restaurants, or somewhere outdoors exploring beautiful BC.


Jennifer Wu

Digital Communications Coordinator

As the Digital Communications Coordinator, Jennifer manages BC Dairy’s social media channels and is passionate about creating engaging content that tells a story and provides value to the audience. Growing up in Vancouver, she loves discovering new local spots that serve up the best cuisine. Jennifer is also a latte and travel enthusiast so you’ll likely find her at a local coffee shop planning her next adventure.

Joel Barohn, MS, RD, Chef

Education & Community Partnerships Manager

After working as health and wellness coordinator for a dairy association in Texas, Joel moved to BC in 2016. As a registered dietitian at BC Dairy, Joel contributes to the mission of promoting health through leadership and innovation in nutrition education at schools and among fellow health professionals. Outside of work, Joel enjoys cooking and spending time with his family exploring BC.

Carmen Gorlick, RD

Nutrition Educator

Moving to BC from Saskatchewan helped Carmen appreciate the variety and abundance of local foods that are produced and enjoyed in BC. Carmen brings her knowledge of nutrition, passion for supporting local agriculture and experience in public health to her work as a nutrition educator at BC Dairy. In her free time, Carmen loves running, hiking and trying new, local foods with her friends and family.

Wendy Kwok

Community Partnerships Specialist

Born and raised in Vancouver, Wendy loves all things grown and made in BC. She jokes she’s a jack-of-many-trades and master-of-none. Hence at BC Dairy, her role spans from corporate partnership development, graphic design, database management, advocate for healthy meals in schools to unloading the company dishwasher. She shares with everyone that crosses her path her respect and admiration for dairy farmers, and how genuine, down-to-earth and hardworking they are. On weekends you’ll find her learning to cook traditional dishes with her mom and acting goofy with her young nieces and nephews.

Aimee Laity

Dairy Education Coordinator

From her time in 4-H to being the wife of a dairy farmer, Aimee has a passion for the industry and loves anything to do with cows. In her role at BC Dairy, she coordinates dairy education programs that promote dairy farming in the community. You’ll often find her walking through the fields with her dog Benson at her family’s farm.
