Three BC cheeses are selected as finalists for the 2013 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix.
A panel of top Canadian food industry experts gathered in Montreal for a closed door session on February 16th and 17th and selected 58 finalists out of 225 cheeses from across Canada in 19 different categories.
Three BC cheeses were selected as finalists for the 2013 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix:
- Golden Ears Brie from Golden Ears Cheesecrafters Ltd. (in the soft cheese with bloomy rind category)
- Golden Ears Aged Havarti from Golden Ears Cheesecrafters Ltd. (in the semi-soft category)
- Smokehouse Cheddar from The Village Cheese Co. (in the flavoured cheese with added non-particulate flavourings category)
Winners in each category will be announced on April 18.
