David Eto will be the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Burnaby, BC – The BC Dairy Association is pleased to announce that David Eto will be joining the Association as the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as of July 2012.
“After an extensive national search for a new CEO, we are very pleased that David has agreed to join us,” said Dick Klein Geltink, Chair of the Board of Directors of the BC Dairy Association. “He brings more than 25 years of food industry management experience to our organization.”
David Eto most recently held a senior corporate position with Premium Brands, a B.C. company with significant holdings in the meat, bakery and delicatessen manufacturing and supply industries. David is also a founding board member of the Food Innovation Centre of B.C. and has been President and Chair of the B.C. Food Processors’ Association for the past three years.
“I am excited to have this opportunity to work with the team at the BC Dairy Association,” said David Eto. “The dairy industry is dynamic and well organized. I look forward to applying my experience in the food processing sector to the Association.”
“I have known David for seven years and have great respect for him. I could not think of a better person to take over the leadership of the Association,” said Robin Smith, the current Executive Director and CEO.
Robin Smith will work with David Eto throughout August to help ensure a smooth transition. After eleven years leading the BC Dairy Foundation, the BC Milk Producers Association and now the BC Dairy Association, Robin is returning to his agri-food consulting firm, Foodwest Resources.
The BC Dairy Association (BCDA) is a not-for-profit organization that represents the B.C. dairy industry, by advancing the legitimate business interests of B.C.’s dairy farmers and by raising awareness of the dynamic, economically sustainable nature of the industry, which consistently supplies high-quality products to consumers. The BCDA implements innovative advertising, promotion and nutrition education programs and advocates for producers’ concerns such as the environment, animal welfare, product safety, employee training, trade and regulatory matters.
