This year’s Breakfast on the Farm was a two-day event with over 1,200 total visitors.
The 2nd annual Breakfast on the Farm in the Okanagan was hosted by the Veldhuisen family in Spallumcheen on June 10th and 11th. Due to the community’s overwhelming support for the event, this year the event was expanded into a two-day event to include a day exclusively for school tours. In total, over 300 student and 900 community members were in attendance. Event-goers enjoyed a free pancake breakfast prepared by the Enderby Lions Club and had the opportunity to learn all about dairy farming in BC. Visitors toured the dairy farm, watched live milking demonstrations by the Mobile Dairy Classroom Experience, and sampled ice-cream made with local BC milk. The event also featured other aspects of agriculture in BC including community booths from the Poultry in Motion and the Okanagan Shuswap Sheep Producer’s Association.
If you missed Breakfast on the Farm, there is still an opportunity to check out this fun family event.
