BC’s dairy farmers to once again match $30,000 in support of care for children with life-threatening illnesses
Vancouver, B.C. (February 17, 2026): For the eighth consecutive year, British Columbians have the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of children with life-threatening conditions through Milk & Cookies for Canuck Place, a fundraiser proudly presented by BC Dairy. From official “Milk & Cookies Day” on February 26 until the end of the school year, BC’s dairy farmers will match every dollar raised by youth and businesses, up to a total of $30,000, in support of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice ensuring that when a child’s time is finite, the love surrounding them is infinite.
At Canuck Place, a cookie is more than a snack. It’s a way to nurture, comfort, and connect,” said Denise Praill, CEO at Canuck Place. “Our cookies are famous for bringing joy to children and families. Thanks to the kind generosity of BC Dairy and all our supporters, Milk & Cookies for Canuck Place helps ensure children and families facing unimaginable circumstances receive the support and loving care they need.”

BC’s dairy farmers support important pediatric palliative care provided by Canuck Place in urban and rural communities across BC and the Yukon. “Supporting families when they need it most is at the heart of what BC’s dairy farmers believe in,” said Casey Pruim, Board Chair for BC Dairy. “Matching donations is one way we can amplify community generosity and help Canuck Place continue delivering exceptional care to children and families across the province.”

“I felt fully comfortable breaking down to Canuck Place Nurse Practitioner, Rachel after only meeting her minutes prior. If we were having a hard day Rachel would come by on her way home from work with cookies in hand and talk to us about how we can make things better: such as managing Kolbi’s pain, moods etc. Kolbi was a bit of a monkey and he was so determined to move even once he was paralyzed. He was always pulling his catheter out by accident, trying to crawl to get to his stuffed animals. We would call Rachel and she would come quickly to replace it.”
