This easy, homemade chai has the perfect blend of spices to bring comfort into your day.

mortar and pestle or rolling pin
bowl
2 mugs
Ingredients
1 cup (250 mL) 3% whole or 2% milk
1 cup (250 mL) water
2-3 tbsp (30-45 mL) sugar to taste
1-3 cardamom pods
2 cloves
1-2 inch cinnamon stick
1 black tea bag
Directions
Using a mortar and pestle or end of a rolling pin, mash cardamom, cloves and cinnamon into a bowl and add this mixture into a pot with water, tea bag and sugar. Bring to a boil.
Once the pot is boiling, add the milk. Allow tea to come to a boil again and remove from the heat.
Using a tea strainer, pour chai into 2 mugs. Enjoy!
