A popular Persian dip and a crowd-pleaser.
- measuring cups and spoons

- 1 cup yogurt—Greek or drained is preferred
- 2 tsp dried shallots
- Salt (optional)
You may find the dried shallots at Middle Eastern grocery stores.
Soak the shallots in a small amount of water for about half an hour. Finely chop the shallots.
Add yogurt to the mixing bowl and stir in shallots and salt (if using).
Let the mixture stay in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
Enjoy this simple yogurt dip with flat bread, pita, toasted bread, or tortilla!
