Packed with flavour, this ranch dressing features protein-rich Greek yogurt and fresh herbs for a elevated twist on a classic. Recipe created by Christopher Rivest, @may.eighty.five.

Equipment

  • small bowl
  • whisk
  • food processor or blender
  • air tight container

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 tbsp finely chopped chives
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) finely chopped dill
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, chives, dill, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Optional Blending: For a smoother consistency, blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender.
  3. Chill for Flavor: Transfer the dressing to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight) to let the flavors meld.
  4. For Salad Dressing: If you’re using this as a salad dressing, thin it out by adding 1 tablespoon of water at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

Tips

  • Greek Yogurt: If you prefer a richer texture, swap out Greek yogurt for sour cream or a mix of both.
  • Herbs: Fresh herbs make all the difference, but you can substitute dried dill and chives in a pinch—just reduce the quantity to 1/3 of what’s called for.
  • Customize Your Flavor: Add a pinch of cayenne for heat, or swap white wine vinegar for buttermilk if you’re craving a tangier, classic buttermilk ranch flavor.
