Ingredients
1 cup (250ml) whole milk
1/3 cup (80ml) sugar
1 ½ tbsp (22.5ml) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
1 tbsp (15ml) corn starch
1/8 tsp (0.6ml) salt
¼ cup (60ml) semi-sweet chocolate, small pieces or chips
1 tsp (5ml) unsalted butter, room temp
½ tsp (2.5ml) vanilla extract
Directions
In a large sauce pan combine milk, sugar, cocoa powder, corn starch and salt. Stirring constantly, cook until thickens to the consistency of a pudding.
Remove pan from the heat, now add chocolate, butter and vanilla. Stir until the chocolate is melted and fully incorporated.
Transfer the thickened mixture to popsicle molds, add sticks and freeze for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
