This savoury Latin American breakfast is featured as part five of our breakfast series.
Latin America—El Salvador
With a combination of both indigenous and Spanish influences, an El Salvadorian breakfast brings a variety of flavours to the table. A common breakfast may include a savoury combination of beans, sausage, avocado, fried plantains, and eggs that are topped off with sour cream or feta cheese! If you have leftover rice from dinner, you can reheat that and include it as well.
Check out our recipe for a traditional El Salvadorian breakfast with refried beans.
Remember, feel free to backtrack through our breakfast series to find South Asian, Chinese, South East Asian and/or First Nations inspired breakfasts as well!
