Smoothies can be a quick and nutritious way to fuel up before your next activity. Check out these three flavour ideas to get you started.

Equipment

  • blender
  • grater (for Milk & Pomegranate Delight)

Ingredients

Banana Blueberry:

  • Kefir 2 cups (500 mL) 2% milk
  • 2 frozen, very ripe bananas, cut into chunks
  • 2 cups (500 mL) frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup (250 mL) blueberry (or plain) kefir

Milk & Pomegranate Delight:

  • 2 cups (500 mL) 2% milk
  • 2 cups (500 mL) frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup (250 mL) vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) pomegranate juice

Creamy Raspberry Swirl

  • 2 cups (500 mL) 2% milk
  • 2 cups (500 mL) frozen raspberries
  • 2 cups (500 mL) baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) smooth lemon cottage cheese (or regular cottage cheese)
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) grated lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) liquid honey (or to taste)

Directions

Banana Blueberry Kefir

In a blender, combine milk, bananas, blueberries and kefir; purée until smooth. Pour into glasses to serve.

Milk & Pomegranate Delight

In a blender, combine milk, strawberries, yogurt, pomegranate juice, orange zest and juice; purée until smooth. Pour into glasses to serve.

Creamy Raspberry Swirl

In a blender, combine milk, raspberries, spinach, cottage cheese, lemon zest and honey; purée until smooth. Pour into glasses to serve.
