S’more Chocolate Shake

S'mores, anyone?

Equipment

  • blender
  • ice cream scoop
  • milkshake glasses

Ingredients

  • GARNISH (optional):
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) 35% cream
  • 4 graham crackers
  • 2 thin squares chocolate-bar-style milk chocolate, each about 1 inch (2.5 cm)
  • 2 marshmallows, sliced in half
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) thick chocolate ice cream sauce (not syrup)
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) coarse chocolate cookie crumbs
  • MILKSHAKE:
  • 4 large scoops chocolate ice cream
  • 1 cup (250 mL) milk

Directions

  1. Garnish: Preheat broiler. Whip cream until stiff peaks form; refrigerate.
  2. Place 2 graham crackers on a small baking sheet. Top each with chocolate, then 2 marshmallow halves. Broil for 30 to 60 seconds on the center rack or until marshmallows are golden. Top with remaining 2 crackers.
  3. Milkshake: In a blender, combine ice cream and milk until frothy. If you’d like thicker milkshakes, add more ice cream and whirl again.
  4. Spoon chocolate sauce onto a small plate. Place cookie crumbs on another small plate. Roll rim of 1 milkshake glass in the chocolate sauce then rim with crumbs. Repeat with another milkshake glass.
  5. Using a spoon, drizzle half the sauce in 4 spots down the inside of one of the glasses (to form stripes). Fill glass with the shake. Repeat with remaining glass.
  6. Top with whipped cream then stand a s’more in each shake. Sprinkle with any remaining cookie crumbs. Serve with a spoon.
